Katharine Hope McPhee (born May 6, 1976) is an American musician, singer and actress. In the month of May, 2006 McPhee placed second on American Idol's fifth season. In the year 2018, after leaving Scorpion she was cast as Jenna Hunterson on Broadway's Waitress. The singer-songwriter returned to the role to reprise her role on Broadway from 2019 until 2020. The last few years have been a time of release for four more albums following her self-titled debut. Taylor Hicks was the fifth American Idol winner on May 24, 2006. Katharine MacPhee took home the title of American Idol in 2006. She beat Chris Daughtry (then 29) and Kellie Peckler.

Katherine Marie Heigl was born in the United States.
